Caudalie Beauty Elixir Review

Tons and tons of beauty gurus have already praised this bombshell product, and it’s the Caudalie Beauty Elixir ($18). I read up on it but I still wasn’t convinced enough to buy it partly because I’m not a fan of face mists and I also have my favorite toner that I was quite satisfied with. That being said, the Caudalie Beauty Elixir is basically a toner to be used before a moisturizer and also as a face mist to freshen and brighten makeup/complexion anytime throughout the day. They come in two sizes I believe, a travel/portable size and a full size you can place on your topshelf.

What really drove me to buy it though was being so pleased with the Caudalie brand itself. I tried their hand cream and tried out a few of their products here and there, and after forming most trust in their brand, I decided to give their Beauty Elixir a go.

I bought it during my day out and began to constantly apply/ spray it throughout the day. It definitely gave a most freshening feeling, also because of its herbal scent. I’ve heard that my skin looked fresher and brighter even though I had my makeup on the entire day. After that, I started trying it out as a toner. I didn’t want to stray entirely off of my usual skincare routine, but I didn’t think it’d hurt to try out this toner in addition to the things I was already using.

So, as a toner it definitely felt wonderful as well! In cases when I have thoroughly finished a “deep cleansing” process and sprayed this Beauty Elixir all over my face, I felt a slight tingling sensation. It felt like a skin medicine because it had a healing effect. It also has a slight cooling effect that gives you just a boost to your skin!

This is what they, the Caudalie team, says about their own product:

Smoothes the skin, tightens the pores, and provides an instant burst of radiance, as it stimulates microcirculation.

It hasn’t been a full week yet but I can say that I am honestly happy with this product. It’s usually the effects of “not” using it after knowing the benefits that you really get to know if this product is a must must must! That being said, I can’t say for sure this is a must and a to-die-for product, but I will definitely be going and purchasing the larger size to keep on my topshelf!

READY TO BE HUNGRY?

New York City is known for many things, but of one is the amazing burger house/shack called Shake Shack. They have many branches, but the original started in Madison Square Park on 23rd street and the other that I’ve personally been to is the one on 77th street near Central Park, which is indoor.

Okay, they are so…….. good! You know, I don’t even know how to describe how good they are. And their cheese fries and milkshakes are just… (speechless). They are decently priced and if you eat at the one in the park, it’s just so lovely. But be prepared to wait especially long since every time I go, the lines are extremely long. That doesn’t mean though that the food isn’t worth it at all! Everything will be worth the wait for these goodies.

Here are the pictures. I think they’ll speak for themselves :)

I personally love the Shack burger!

Origins

I used to use a Korean brand Hera cleanser, and it was from the White Program line that worked miracles for me. However, I’ve run out of them and it’ll just be a hassle to get another bottle so I’ve searched for what could replace it in removing my makeup and cleansing my skin. Personally, I’ve wanted to try the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish, but I wasn’t going to pay a $20 shipping for a $24 product! Instead, I went for the Clean Energy Gentle Cleansing Oil ($21) from Origins.

It doesn’t foam up as much as I would like, as I enjoy using cleansers with my Clarisonic. However, it does a great job in removing makeup and leaving your skin unharmed or feeling sensitive in any way. I personally respect Origins. They give a safe feeling in that you feel when you buy and use their products, your skin will not break out or become sensitive in anyway. I use their Ginseng eye cream as well as their 10-minute Rescue Mask.

It’s best for all skin types. I like to use one of my egg soaps after the cleansing process just to get that final fresh finish!

Lush Face Masks

I have heard good things about Lush Face Masks and I have this thing where I must never be short of face masks. Every time my skin is looking tired or just “broken” I quickly go through my selection of masks and put it on my face. When I do that, somehow I feel relieved and proud to know that I am treating my skin well!

I bought two of their 3-week must-be-refrigerated face masks. One was recommended by the girl who worked there, and another by the recommendation of other beauty bloggers.

I have tried The Sacred Truth about three times now and I love it. It is “the anti-oxidant action of wheatgrass, ginseng and green tea; enzymic fresh papaya, cleansing clays and is packed with fresh, active ingredients, which enhance and revive the complexion.”

I’ve always heard papayas are great for skin. If you put this on at night and wash it off after ten minutes, the next day you will find your skin noticeably smoother and brighter!

The second face mask I got was Brazened Honey. It has “stimulating Ayurvedic herbs and fresh fruit juices [that] are blended together with softening honey and ground almonds to polish skin that’s in serious need of a boost.”

I love masks that brighten the face. I think that’s what I was looking for when I bought these two masks because they do just that! When you put this on, you’ll have a slight tingling sensation and it gives you that feeling of detox. I have only used it once and have more to see of the results, but it has the effect of exfoliating and brightening. Again, it says here, this would be great when in need of a “serious boost” so when you’re having a bad skin day, this might be helpful!

The ingredient that I love about this one is the honey!

So, if you’re looking to buy face masks especially from Lush— I’m finding these to be quite nice! xx
